Bio and Treatment Info

Training:

Originally from upstate New York, Dr. Bank attended Syracuse University where she graduated with a BS degree in psychology. She completed her psychiatric residency at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical center in Chicago and was board certified in 1998. She has been in private practice since 1996 and opened her downtown Chicago based practice in 1999.

Treatment Approaches:

Dr. Bank believes that in order to provide optimal psychiatric treatment one must explore each patients developmental, psychological, social and biologic backgrounds. She strives to get to know and understand her clients as individuals and works with each client to determine their optimal treatment approach.

Dr. Bank is experienced in providing analytic psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, supportive therapy and psychoeducation. She works with individuals and couples and encourages family support and education when appropriate. Dr. Bank believes it is imperative to communicate with her clients other treatment providers to deliver the highest level of care. Every effort is made to see clients in a comfortable and unrushed setting.

Integrative Listening:

Integrated Listening (iLS) is a sound therapy based on the work of Alfred Tomatis, M.D.  It is a very effective, non-invasive treatment modality used to improve balance, coordination, sensory integration, attention, drive, concentration, and mood. Insurance and Fees:

Dr Bank is not a preferred provider for any HMO or PPO panels. Clients are required to pay for their appointments at the time of service. Cash, checks, or credit card payments are accepted. We are happy to assist in educating our clients on how to file their insurance claims out-of-network and willing to fill out any paperwork necessary for claim reimbursement. We recommend that you contact your insurance provider directly to determine your out-of-network reimbursement benefits.

Dr. Bank's initial 90 minute evaluation is $425. Follow up sessions are $210 for one hour appointments, and $165 for half hour pharmacotherapy visits. The frequency of visits is based on need and patient goals. Maintenance pharmacotherapy patients are expected to follow up every four months to assess progress and ongoing need for treatment. Clients are expected to pay for missed visits without 24 hour notice (unless absence is due to illness or unforeseen emergency.)
